FINANCIALLY FIT WOMAN
Privacy policy
Last updated 13 October 2026
Financially Fit Woman is an educational financial fitness programme run by Cause Vision. This policy explains what we collect when you use the app or this website, why, who can see it, and how to download or delete it. In short: your numbers are yours. No facilitator, partner or organisation ever sees your answers or amounts, and we never sell your information or use it for advertising.
What we collect
- Your sign-in details: a phone number or an email address, used to send you one-time sign-in codes and the reminders you choose.
- Your profile: first name (last name optional), country, currency, language and time zone.
- Your workbook: the answers you give in the exercises — including income, expenses, debts, savings, goals and your own words — your Money Hub check-ins, debts and goals, your scores and your signatures on declarations.
- Your progress: which steps and exercises you have started or completed, and when.
- People you invite: if you invite an accountability partner, the name and phone number or email you type, used only to send that invitation.
- Your device: a push notification token if you turn on push reminders, and the app version and device model when you sign a declaration.
- Usage statistics: which screens and exercises are opened and completed, under a random identifier that is not linked to your account — never an answer, amount, name or contact.
- Crash reports: technical details of an app error. Answers, amounts, sign-in details and phone numbers are removed before a report leaves your device or our servers.
We do not collect your location, your contacts list, photos, audio, health information or advertising identifiers, and we do not track you across other apps or websites.
How we use it
- To run the programme: save your work, calculate your totals and plans, unlock steps.
- To send the reminders and messages you asked for, at the times you chose.
- To show your facilitator and partners your progress, never your answers.
- To keep the service secure and to fix errors.
- To improve the programme from usage statistics that carry no personal values.
The app is educational. It does not give financial advice, recommend products or make decisions about you.
Who can see what
- You: everything you entered.
- Your facilitator (only if you join a cohort): your first name and which steps and exercises you have completed, with dates.
- Accountability partners you invite: your first name and which steps you have completed. You can end a partner link at any time.
- Our team: administrators can see account and progress records to support you; every such access is written to an audit log.
How we protect it
Everything travels over HTTPS. Your answers, Money Hub values, debts and goals are encrypted in our database with a key held separately from the data. Signatures are stored privately and shown only through links that expire after ten minutes. Our logs never record your answers, amounts or full phone number.
Where it is stored and who helps us
Our servers and database run in Johannesburg, South Africa. Service providers process data for us under contract and only on our instructions: hosting (Fly.io, with Upstash and Tigris), network security (Cloudflare), email delivery (Resend), push notifications (Expo, Apple and Google), and — when enabled — crash reporting (Sentry) and usage statistics.
Download your data
In the app, open Profile → Your data → Download my data. You receive a ZIP file with all of your information in a machine-readable format (JSON) and a PDF of each exercise you answered. The download link works for 10 minutes.
Delete your account
In the app, open Profile → Your data → Delete my account. You have 14 days to change your mind: sign in again and choose Restore my account. After 14 days we permanently delete your answers, signatures, Money Hub, debts, goals, profile, contacts, devices and notification history. If you were in a cohort or joined through someone's invitation, those records are kept without your name or contact details so group counts stay correct.
If you cannot use the app, email privacy@ffw.example from the address or with the phone number on your account and we will delete it for you.
Your rights
Depending on where you live — including under South Africa's POPIA, Kenya's Data Protection Act, Nigeria's NDPR and Ghana's Data Protection Act — you can ask to access, correct, download or delete your information, object to or restrict how we use it, and withdraw consent. Most of this you can do yourself in the app; for anything else write to privacy@ffw.example. You may also complain to your data protection authority.
How long we keep it
For as long as you have an account; when you delete it, as described above. Database backups are encrypted and are overwritten on a fixed schedule.
Age
The programme is for adults (18 and over).
Changes
We will tell you in the app before a change that affects how your information is used. See also our terms of use.
